The Humanities, Social Science and Communication (HSC) Department - formally know as General Studies - is dedicated to imparting critical learning, thinking and communication skills to our students, all of which are critical to a well-rounded career and life. HSC offers opportunities for MSOE students to enrich their education with focuses on User Experience, German Studies, Psychology, Spanish, or Technical Communication.
Private philanthropy to the Humanities, Social Science and Communication Department empowers the program to:
- Enhance MSOE's University Scholars Program by providing academic and experiential learning
- Invest in our faculty by providing professional development opportunities
- Provide students partnership opportunities to gain real world experience locally, nationally and around the world
Step Up To The Challenge!
Help us step up to the challenge issued by Alumnus Dan Dornbrook '80. Dan knows the importance of the HSC department and graduated from MSOE with a degree in Technical Communication which is now known as User Experience and Communication Design. Dornbrook '80 is challenging 10 alumni, faculty, staff and friends to make a gift to Humanities, Social Science and Communication Department to unlock an additional $1,000 of support. Gifts of any size count towards this amazing unlocking challenge. When we come together, we can do extraordinary things.
