In the face of historic challenges to college athletics last year, we are excited that our MSOE student athletes not only have been able to represent the university in competition this year but they continue to excel. As in previous years, many of our teams are only able to take the field or the court thanks to generous private gifts from MSOE alumni and friends. By supporting athletics with a gift today you are helping supply necessary equipment to our athletes to compete, providing training opportunities, travel support and more.
Making a gift to athletics is a great way to show your support to our athletes who persevered in extraordinary circumstances over the past two years. Your gift can support the team of your choice or the athletics department as a whole. Thanks to Alan Winegar '90 every gift made to any team or the athletic department for Giving Day will be matched up to $2,000. Show your support today and GO RAIDERS!
MSOE Raider Athletics provides an outlet for our students to compete in inter-collegiate sports while undergoing rigorous academic programs. MSOE fields 26 varsity teams as well as 11 club sports available to our student body.
Thanks to a generous gift from Dr. Kathleen Ruehlow '72, MSOE Regent, MSOE is able to expand co-curricular offerings that include an expansion of women's sports. In phase one, new offices for coaches and new women's locker rooms are being built in the Kern Center and Viets Field. This allows the Raider athletics program to add five new women's teams to its roster for the 2022/2023 academic year: lacrosse, hockey, swim, golf, bowling, and to expand women's track and field offerings.
MSOE is a world-class institution, and Raider athletics is committed to providing our student athletes with outstanding opportunities on the field, in the classroom and in our community. We are dedicated to MSOE’s institutional mission, and we seek to contribute to the university’s academic success. That means two things: helping all our students earn their degrees and providing an exceptional athletic experience.
Throughout the past year, Raider student athletes were able to participate in the sport(s) they love. While some seasons were delayed and some had competition schedules adjusted, MSOE students were about to train and compete safely during the pandemic. Our staff and athletes are excited to get back to doing what they love, while safely supporting each other as we navigate our athletic schedule.
